Wine Curation Program

This season José Mateo Ballet Theatre has partnered with four incredible area restaurants who will be curating our wine selection! A talented bar manager or sommelier will hand-select the wine we sell at our bar during performances this season and they really know their stuff.

Get ready for a year of incredible offerings on stage and at the bar!  As the season goes on, we’ll list the wine selections here.

The wine curation for IMPELLING FORCES will be done by Stan Hilbert at Forage restaurant in Cambridge.

The menu at Forage is local and seasonal-ingredient driven with a focus on classic fare with an innovative twist.  The Forage bar serves craft cocktails and offers a carefully curated yet approachable collection of organic/biodynamic white, red, and sparkling wines; small grower champagnes; and an “outside-the-box” selection of beer.

The wine curation for LOVE’S PULL will be done by Jen Fields at Alden & Harlow restaurant in Cambridge.

Alden & Harlow serves thoughtfully sourced, honest American food in a subterranean, modern and comfortable space. Inspired by the gathering of family and friends at his home kitchen table, Chef Michael Scelfo prepares bold and flavor-forward food that honors tradition of place in its quality.

The wine curation for TAKING FLIGHT will be done by Morgan Carney at Grafton Street Pub & Grill.

Originally opened in 1996, Grafton Street Pub & Grill has been a beloved institution of Harvard Square for more than a decade. This neighborhood hotspot is named after the spirited cobblestone-lined shopping district in Dublin’s famed Temple Bar area. Grafton Street deftly combines the warmth and coziness of a traditional neighborhood pub with the aesthetic of a contemporary restaurant.

The wine curation for INESCAPABLE ORBIT will be done by Paul Manzelli at Bergamot restaurant, Somerville.

Bergamot has combined their love for great food, wine and friends. Having worked in some amazing local restaurants, the staff takes all they know and make it their own.  Cooking up Progressive American Cuisine — the staff is always having fun with the best local produce, complementing it with ingredients from around the world, and serving it with neighborhood warmth.
