Young Dancers Program Cambridge & Dorchester
The Young Dancers Program is José Mateo Ballet Theatre’s yearlong training program for children. With a campus in Cambridge serving children ages 3-18 and its new satellite program in Dorchester serving children ages 3-8, there’s a ballet class for every child looking to begin their classical training with us! With small classes and individual attention, all students can excel beyond their expectations within our program.
YouthWorks is the pre-professional dance program within José Mateo Ballet Theatre’s Young Dancers Program. YouthWorks dancers are fully enrolled students in the program’s highest levels. Dancers are hand-selected to audition.
Open Class Program for Adults
José Mateo Ballet Theatre offers drop-in classes for adults with previous ballet training Monday–Saturday all year. Students can pay by the class or purchase a 10-class card at a discount.
Introduction to Ballet for Teens & Adults
We believe that age should never be a barrier to learning the art of ballet. With our Introduction to Ballet classes for teens and adults, José Mateo Ballet Theatre offers age-appropriate training to older students who have never had the opportunity to learn ballet. Try something new in the comfort of a class of peers and join us for these wonderful introductory courses.
José Mateo Ballet Theatre offers three distinct summer programs for students looking to continue their training through the summer month. Our Summer Elementary Program is designed for students ages 3–12 with classes once or twice per week. The Summer Intensive Program for students ages 10–20 is available as a three-week or six-week program designed to show marked improvement in technique. Our Young Professional Program is a career-orientated program for dancers ages 18–22 and is open by audition only.
