We offer a wide variety of opportunities for those interested in volunteering, and actively seek a volunteer base with a full range of skills, interests, and schedules. COMPANY REPERTORY AND NUTCRACKER SHOWS
Our productions benefit from volunteers involved in a number of areas. All public performances require parking attendants, bartenders and ushers to seat patrons, take tickets and hand out programs. In some theatres, volunteers may assist with ticket sales in the box office and other miscellaneous “front of house” responsibilities.
Marketing involves an ongoing effort to bring exposure to company performances, the school and our Dance for World Community events and programs. Volunteers are needed for poster and flier distribution, telemarketing and other activities. In addition, volunteers play a key part in expanding our marketing network by providing contacts for sponsorships, group sales and more.
JMBT hosts an array of special events throughout the year including our School’s Open House events, our annual Choreographing Change fundraising breakfast, our Halloween Gala and our annual Dance for World Community Festival. Among the many volunteer opportunities are mailing coordination and event staffing.
TOURS AND PUBLIC PROGRAMS
JMBT implements a robust set of fundraising tours and public programs (such as our Talk About Dance and free ticket access program) to engage our local community and invite its members to help us in expanding the role of dance in the cultural education and enrichment of our daily lives. Volunteers will help staff events, recruit participants and coordinate program delivery.
YOUNG DANCERS PROGRAM
Our Young Dancers Program has developed into one of the most respected programs in New England. The program includes a regular school year program and a five-week summer program. Volunteers assist with fundraisers, parent observation weeks and year-end demonstrations.
