CLASSICAL BALLET TEACHER
DESCRIPTION
José Mateo Ballet Theatre seeks classical ballet teachers for the Young Dancers Program, Summer Intensive Program, Summer Elementary Program, and Adult Open Class Program. Teachers will have the opportunity to work with a community of dedicated students and faculty.
The organization’s current home is the Old Cambridge Baptist Church in Harvard Square. Cambridge is renowned for its universities, diversity, and robust arts scene. Our four studios in this location are spacious and welcoming, creating an atmosphere perfect for dance and learning.
Located at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Uphams Corner, our Dorchester studio supports a growing number of young ballet dancers. Uphams Corner has recently been designated as an Arts and Innovation District by the City of Boston and José Mateo Ballet Theatre is very excited to be a part of the community and its future.
In keeping with our mission, we would like to be able to offer equitable ballet education to both locations. We would like new members of our faculty to be able to teach at either location depending on our needs. Candidates should have a passion for ballet and the impact that it can have on students of all backgrounds and abilities. In addition to regular teaching, there may be opportunities to engage our communities through Ballet Story Times, partnerships with local schools, and other events.
