Application Requirements
José Mateo Ballet Theatre works with out-of-town dancers who have been accepted into the program to find suitable housing with host families in the area.
Deadline: March 15, 2021
Audition Fee: $25
All students must audition for the 2021 Summer Intensive by submitting an audition video. Videos do not need to be professional quality. Please contact us if you require assistance putting together the required exercises.
Auditions will be reviewed on a rolling basis and students can expect a decision within two weeks of submission. Early submissions are encouraged.
For students ages 10–13
The video should consist of a tendu exercise at the barre, an adage at the barre, and a tendu/adage exercise in the centre. All exercises should be 32 counts.
For students age 14 and up
The video should consist of an adage at the barre, an adage in the centre, and an allegro combination with turns. Women: include pointe work exercises to be considered for partnering classes. All exercises should be 32 counts.

1. | Be enrolled in the full program and remain committed to attending the full program July 6-August 6. |
2. | Comply with all rules and regulations of José Mateo Ballet Theatre including, but not limited to, dress code, punctuality, general conduct, and class protocols. |
3. | Attend and be on time to all scheduled classes. Scholarship students may not be late to class more than 2 times or have more than 2 unexcused absences during the course of the program. Excused absences and lateness must be communicated to the office by a parent/guardian in advance of the start of class. |
4. | Participate in all scheduled classes and activities and other organizational programs as scheduled. |
5. | Seek and receive permission from artistic staff before enrolling in additional dance classes or accepting a performance engagement elsewhere. |
Financial Aid Application Requirements
No financial aid application is necessary prior to auditioning and being accepted into the program. Once you have been accepted into the program, if you wish to apply for financial aid, you will be asked to submit the following materials with your Enrollment Application:
